{"id":334,"date":"2017-07-01T13:30:51","date_gmt":"2017-07-01T11:30:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.canyoutrust.me\/?p=334"},"modified":"2017-07-01T18:29:21","modified_gmt":"2017-07-01T16:29:21","slug":"what-does-it-look-like-to-be-agender","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.canyoutrust.me\/index.php\/en\/2017\/07\/01\/what-does-it-look-like-to-be-agender\/","title":{"rendered":"What does it look like to be agender"},"content":{"rendered":"<p lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Before everything else, being agender is to be transgender.<br \/>\nBeing transgender is when the gender identity assigned at birth doesn\u2019t correspond to who you are.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">To be trans is to feel dysphoria.<br \/>\nFeeling of gender dysphoria is the incompatibility between your identity and your body, your name or how others perceive you when they can\u2019t or don\u2019t want to see who you really are.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Agender is a word for which the text editor give us a red squiggly underline.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s not in everyday language, not yet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><strong> To be agender or neutrois means that one doesn\u2019t identify to any gender.<\/strong><br \/>\nThis gender, or more exactly, this absence of gender is part of non-binary gender transidentities (neither 100% feminine nor 100% masculine).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Being agender, as far as I am concerned, is over all dysphoria since early childhood.<br \/>\nThen the inability to find words in my mother language to express my identity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">I have a heavy incomprehension and revolt against the statutes of men and women, patriarchy, sexism, education, the invisibility of non-binary and intersex.<br \/>\nBasically, to a majority of our manners.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">My ideal gender expression is an androgynous appearance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Dress, manhood, makeup, six pack or waxing are words that are not associated with a gender.<br \/>\nIn any case, not by me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">To be agender is to be invisible, ignored, denied.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><strong> It\u2019s too early to be agender.<\/strong><br \/>\nTo be agender is to be the precursor of a revolution for which the world is not prepared.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Agender people are not represented on the media.<br \/>\nMany other minorities have gone through this, and it\u2019s to be hoped that they will be after some time.<br \/>\nAs binary transgender (F\/M) people are today in rare and good series.<br \/>\n[Not to mention: <em><strong>Orange is the new black, Sense 8, The fosters, &#8230;<\/strong><\/em>]<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Over the years, public figures involved in the MOGAI* brief have been growing.<br \/>\nTo finally discover an agender person; <strong>Angel Haze<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HGEKm3NA9Is\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sacred good rap<\/a>, by the way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Educating others is a selfish, slow, long, painful and often unsuccessful process.<br \/>\nBut that is the basis.<br \/>\nDefining terms; transgender, dysphoria, non-binary, &#8230;<br \/>\nIntroduce name (Charly), pronoun (they\/them), agreements (masculine or neutral) changes, &#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Faculties of medicine are teeming with non-concerned students.<br \/>\nPeople are deeply transphobic, homophobic as well.<br \/>\nNever have I heard such violent speeches about us as told by my future colleagues at university.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Being transgender means suffering from incompetence and transphobia of our health professionals.<br \/>\nEven those who are supposed to help us will often behave the opposite way to that appropriate in our presence. Except that special someone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Certainly, today, in the eyes of the world, I do not exist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Whether you want to hear it or not.<br \/>\nWe are what we are, one day, it will be known.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">We&rsquo;ll have a good scream and then we&rsquo;ll celebrate with Angel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">And when I become a doctor, count on me to be that special someone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Do not hesitate to replace the word agender by other minorities of MOGAI spectrum<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\"><em>* <strong>MOGAI<\/strong>: Marginalized Orientations, Genders Identities &amp; Intersex<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Before everything else, being agender is to be transgender.
